HMCDRetro Problems? Yeah, I’ve Been There
My game won’t load. I typed that into Google at 2 a.m. three times last month.
It’s usually the file format. HMCDRetro doesn’t read .bin files from that sketchy ROM site. Try .zip or .7z instead.
(And no, renaming .bin to .zip doesn’t count.)
Controls aren’t working? Go straight to Settings > Controller. Don’t guess.
Map them yourself. If Windows says “driver not found,” update your controller drivers (yes,) even if it’s a $12 Xbox clone.
Graphics look weird? Turn off scanline filters first. Then try NTSC mode.
Then try turning off all filters. Sometimes the “authentic” setting is just broken.
Lag? Close Chrome. Close Discord.
Close everything except HMCDRetro. Your laptop isn’t running Crysis (it’s) running Mega Man 2. If it chokes, lower resolution.
Not settings. Resolution.
